Performance Objectives
Students should be able to:- Define STIs
- Name different types of STIs
- List the signs and symptoms of some STIs
- Describe modes of transmission of STIs
- List ways in which HIV is not transmitted.
- identify the effects of HIV/AIDS
- Enumerate the effects of STIs
- Describe the behaviours that put people at risks of getting STIs, HIV/AIDS.
- List modes of prevention of STI/HIV
- Describe ways of helping people that are infected and affected with HIV/AIDS
Lesson Plan
- Start with the 'warm up'. This will take about 7 to 10 minutes.
- Then let the students read the information in the info-cartoon. Most students will be finished in 12 to 15 minutes.
- Then
do either the 'discuss' or the 'make' exercise. This will take about 20 to 30
minutes. If you have a double lesson you can do both the 'make' and the
'discuss'.
- Round up the lesson with a reflection on what the students have learned.
If you do not have enough time in one lesson to do all these steps you can also give the 'make'or 'discuss''exercise as homework and spend any remaining time taking reactions or questions from students.
